Welcome, this channel is about vegan recipes and vegan food related topics. From our small kitchen we whiz up the most delicious heartwarming plant-based vegan recipes with a Mauritian touch. Also, we will occasionally share a few traditional and typical Mauritian recipes. Veganlovlie is where food meets magic! We are a vegan couple, Teenuja and Kevin.

Every yogurt I've made so far was grainy in texture and not smooth like yours. What's the secret? Have I left it too long? Too high temperature? Probiotic culture isn't right? I use homemade soy milk like you do, with only soy and water, and a tablespoon of granulated sugar added before fermentation.
Wonderful video, thank you! I'm new to cooking with Tamarind I was wondering about starting with a block vs ready-made paste. From your video, seems like a block is not hard to work with so I think I will start out with a block. I'm curious, how long does the unused portion of a Tamarind block last after being opened? I just rehydrated some water kefeir and this video has given me a lot of guidence on how to proceed with making these lovely fermented drinks

Tempeh does not need to be heated before eating. If you havent used raw beans then its all good
I use lavendar syrup! Gives a nice flavor. I picked the lavendar syrup up at homegoods

Soak the soybeans overnight, pressure cook them the next day, blend them with their skins with some water (NO soy pulp left behind), add a yogurt starter, and put the mixture in a yogurt maker for 8 hours. Can you guess what the result will be? Perhaps yogurt?

Thank you so much for this recipe! Store bought yogurt is just so expensive, I had to find some other alternative. I love making the majority of our stuff homemade anyway so this was perfect. Thank you for creating this and allowing our family to continue the foods we love without the super high price tag and long ingredients list. My kids are still working on finding a good sweetener, they don't like the tang of it just plain, but hopefully we'll find some good tweaks that work for everyone :) And I highly recommend getting a nut milk bag! Tried the strainer and cheesecloth the first time and I have too many clumps of okara left over in the yogurt. On my 3rd batch and I'm hoping it dissipates with each consecutive batch but I may just have to start over. Unless you have any ideas how to strain the yogurt??
I made some with ginger, grated lemon rind and juice and raspberries. It was such a pretty color and tasted good.
